Kostantakis –Milos Cave Winery is located in Milos island, just 500 meters from the charming seaside village Pollonia and 300 meters from the closest seacoast. Konstantakis Winery is in the heart of a cultivated area of 4 hectares. At the same area are the majority of the vineyards of Kostantakis estate. Slightly elevated in the middle of a wonderful garden, next to Kostantakis Residence, the visitor can enjoy the unique and unlimited view of the Aegean Sea, the mountain and the neighboring island Kimolos.
Milos (or Melos) is a volcanic Greek island and belongs to the island group of Cyclades, in the Aegean Sea southeast of mainland Greece. Cyclades are one of the island groups which constitute the Aegean Archipelago. The name refers to the islands forming a circle (``circular islands``) around the sacred island of Delos. The municipality of Milos also includes the uninhabited offshore islands of Antimilos and Arcadies. The combined land area is 160.147 square kilometers (61.833 sq mi) and the 2011 census population was nearly 5.000 inhabitants.

Ecosystem

Cyclades islands are peaks of a submerged mountainous terrain, with the exception of two volcanic islands Milos and Santorini. The climate is generally dry and mild,. Milos is the southwestern most island in the Cyclades group. Milos has a Mediterranean climate with mild, rainy winters and warm to hot dry summers.
The vineyards, most of which are located near by the Kostantakis wineny are trained low in traditional bush shape (cup- shape). The soils are sandy clay and has a very distinctive geology, meaning that the rocks and minerals its soil and subsoil are made of point directly to its special creation. Some rocks and minerals of the island are very characteristic and owe their origin to volcanic processes.
An interesting blend of varieties are found in Kostantakis vineyards , including Assyrtiko, Monemvasia , Roditis ,Savatiano, Malagousia, Mavrotragano, Mandilaria, Mavro Aidani and Moscato (Muscat).

Kostantakis –Milos Cave winery belongs to the PGI Cyclades zone (est.2008) that includes all Cycladic islands, in the southern Aegean Sea. Vineyards must be planted at altitudes exceeding 30m. Milos is a new established winegrowing area of Greece (although it has a long wine producing tradition ) but has considerable further potential. A glance at the varietal composition, with a wealth of native varieties many of which are already successful.
Nowadays Kostantakis - Milos Cave Winery produces 6 wines in limited production that represent the philosophy of founder viticulturist Kostas Mallis.
